The Capital Grille on Brickell Avenue is one of those old world fancy restaurants with excellent service and an American Menu of food that always satisfies. They are by far the fanciest restaurants of the Darden Family extensive collection of eateries and are located in more than half of the 50 states, with the majority being in Florida.
We visited this time with friends during Miami Spice and everyone enjoyed a fantastic meal, excellent service and a terrific refined atmosphere for an incredible price. Several in our group are indeed regular visitors, and you can see why after experiencing the restaurant and bar for yourself. They offer seating at large round tables as well as leather seated booths with subdued lighting surrounded by mahogany paneling and art deco chandeliers. Think of an elegant upscale Steak and Lobster house and you get the idea.
If you’re looking for a new age menu full of out-of-the-ordinary combinations with different country’s signature dishes blended into one, this is not the place for you. However if you like a fine dry aged and cooked to order steak with sides of actual creamy mashed potatoes and perfectly steamed and flavorful green beans, or delectable fresh lobster, you’re in the right place.
Not all the items offered are simple, as you can get a delicious Lobster Mac ’n’ Cheese as a side as well as Parmesan Truffle Fries. Some of the appetizers include chilled Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail, Lobster and Crab Cakes and Steak Tartare. There are also some delicious soups including the Caramelized French Onion Soup and New England Clam Chowder, either one of these are not to be missed. They serve as well some salads and outstanding sandwiches.
Regardless which main course you order you won’t be disappointed, from the Seared Tenderloin with Poached Lobster Tails, or the 10 Oz Filet Mignon to the 24 Oz Porterhouse Steak. They also offer some seafood items, like Roasted Swordfish, Citrus Glazed Salmon and Fresh Maine Lobster. They offer a variety of desserts, but the crowd favorites are the Creme Brûlée with Berries and the Cheesecake, however the Warm Double Chocolate Cake with Cherries and Ice Cream is heavenly.
They have an extensive world-class Wine List, many bottles displayed give you an idea of how big the selections must be, you can order by the glass or get a bottle. They also serve almost any mixed drink or Cocktail you can ask for.
Valet parking is available or you can park yourself for free up to three hours in the building’s parking garage by getting your ticket stamped.
